The end of the school year saw King James Academy in Royston celebrate an incredible year of sport.
Their annual awards ceremony provided an opportunity for the school to reflect on their achievements, chief of which was more pupils than ever before representing the school and more trophies than ever lifted.
From Year 5 to 11, King James provided pupils with a huge range of competitive school sporting opportunities ranging from local friendlies to English Schools’ national cups.
In total 360 of their students represented the school, split down to 163 girls and 197 boys.
This resulted in a lot of success with a national final, a regional England final, four Hertfordshire county titles and 36 district titles.
The biggest event was for the Year 10 boys' football team who played their way to a national final at The Hawthorns, home of West Bromwich Albion FC.
Despite the final not going the way of the Royston school, it was an amazing experience and created life long memories.
The Year 5 and 6 boys' cricket team travelled to the Essex County Ground to take part in the South East England regional finals.
The reached the final too but were beaten in a closely contested game.
The athletics squads have arguably been the most successful sport as they enjoyed a trophy-laden season.
Five school records were broken, the Year 5 and 6 team won the North East Herts district title and the Y7 to 11 squad finished with three North Herts championship trophies and 13 district league prizes.
The pupils that had represented the school were presented with a certificate to recognise and celebrate their contribution and commitment with sponsors Ensum Brown represented.
Head of PE & school sport, Rob Dowler said: "It was fantastic to celebrate all the pupils' hard work and it was great to have the support of Ensum Brown to make the event more memorable for the pupils.
"With pupils from all year groups attending, it also provided an opportunity for the year 5 and 6 pupils to hear about the experiences of the senior site pupils to hopefully help inspire them to continue to take opportunities and strive to improve."
Sophie Harvey and William Webber were the Year 5 winners, Mhairi Foley and Herbie Norris took the honours in Year 6 and the Year 7 awards went to Faye Everist and Charlie Emmett.
In Year 8 the prizes went to Farrah Pitts and Jamie Rogers, in Year 9 to Erin Clare and Riley Waldock and in Year 10 to Neve Perkinton and Zeke Wellington.
