Talking on the E4 show, Stephen said the couple had “switched off” from their relationship, admitting: “We both kind of switched off and stopped working at it. The longer you leave it, the more it deteriorates to a point where there's no going back."

Discussing his relationship more, the Gogglebox star told The Sun: “I'm a firm believer in that life is about change and now I'm just looking forward to the next chapter of my life.”

He added that both himself and Daniel had an “amazing time” while in their 11-year relationship and while appearing on Gogglebox together from 2018 until 2023.

It is also understood that the former couple remain business partners in West Sussex and are said to be on good terms.

Stephen also recently shared his reason behind leaving Gogglebox despite being one of the last remaining original stars.

Ahead of appearing on Celebs Go Dating, Stephen explained he was "getting bored of his own jokes".

He said: "I thought, ‘I just can’t go back [to Gogglebox], I’m sick of it'."

Speaking to The Mirror, he added: "I got to the 10th anniversary of Gogglebox. I started feeling like Ken Barlow... there from day one.
