Heavy rainfall caused a "few leaks" at Lister Hospital in Stevenage yesterday (Monday), and affected some services.
The East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, which runs Lister, took to social media yesterday to warn patients that "some services have been affected by the recent heavy rainfall", and that "there may be some delays to appointments, including x-rays and other diagnostics".
Today, a spokesperson for the NHS trust confirmed that "a few leaks at Lister Hospital meant we had very minor delays on Monday in the x-ray department. No appointments were postponed".
Rumours that a ceiling had collapsed at the hospital have been quashed. The spokesperson explained that, "to ensure access to the roof during the heavy rainfall, we proactively removed a few ceiling tiles, with no impact on patient care".
