Pupils from Barley and Barkway Federation School have said goodbye to their friends at Margaret House care home in Royston following an intergenerational project.
Year 3 pupils in Beech Class have spent the last year enjoying weekly reading sessions and monthly lunches with the care home residents.
At the end of the project, the children presented the residents with pictures they had made for them.

Beech Class's teacher Mrs Porter said: "It's been wonderful to see the children grow in confidence during the year as they met with their older 'buddies'."
The home's wellbeing manager Lea-Ann Smith added: "Residents got so much pleasure from spending meaningful time with the children."
The project will start again in September with the new Year 3 pupils.
