An Orwell stroke survivor is holding a table top sale to raise money for Addenbrooke's Hospital.
Kirsten Bailey, who uses a wheelchair and has spinal muscular atrophy and autism, was born at the Rosie Hospital in Cambridge and has had many visits to Addenbrooke's throughout her life.
During the pandemic, Kirsten suffered a stroke at the age of 29, and in March last year had successful surgery to remove a cavernoma - the cluster of abnormal blood vessels in her brain which caused the stroke.
Kirsten, who volunteers for Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust, is now raising money for the A3 neurosurgical ward, where she recovered following her surgery.
She has already raised money for the day room where the patients wait for their surgeries.
Kirsten said: "Now we’re trying to raise enough funds to make the staff room a bit nicer and to get some equipment for the wards."
