Young eco councillors from Barley Barkway Federation met with Sir Oliver Heald and Councillor Fiona Hill to discuss their drive to safeguard the county's chalk streams.
The children outlined their plan to elevate public knowledge of the issue and gave Sir Oliver a signed letter, addressed to the Minister of State for the Environment, Steve Barclay.
Sir Oliver applauded the children for their understanding and dedication.

He said: "What a wonderful project this has been and the campaign you are running is very important to our area.
"Congratulations to you all for taking this up."
Afterwards, a framed trout print, inscribed with 'Barley and Barkway stand by you', was offered to Sir Oliver - who vowed to display it in his office.
