Members of Royston Indian Society gathered to celebrate Ugadi, marking the Telugu community's new year.
The event, which signifies the onset of spring, took place at St Mary's Catholic Church on Saturday, April 13.
Around 65 people of all ages took part in the festivities, enjoying dance, music and games.
Authentic Telugu food was served, including ugadi pachadi, puran poli, tamarind rice, potato curry and mango chutney.
Ugadi pachadi is made from neem flowers, raw unripe green mango, jaggery, pepper powder, coconut and salt, while puran poli (also known as bobbatlu) is an accompanying flatbread.
Cllr Mary Antony, who attended the event, said: "Organising such Indian festivals in Royston provides an opportunity to interact and share the culture of India."
