Almost £900k in funding is now available to business and community projects in South Cambridgeshire.

The Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF) has opened for applications and is designed to support diversification and job creation within businesses, as well as volunteer opportunities, rural travel and digital schemes.

Beneficiaries can include businesses, social enterprises, farmers, charities, and rural community groups.

The funding is being delivered by Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA), while South Cambs district council is responsible for grant scheme delivery and allocation.

The CPCA's executive director, Richard Kenney, said: "We are proud to launch the REPF in South Cambridgeshire, a significant step towards bolstering our local businesses and community initiatives.

"We aim to empower businesses and community groups to thrive and contribute to the prosperity of our region.

The District Council will allocate a total of £876,101 between 2024 and 2025, with amounts ranging from £10,000 to £100,000.

Applications can now be submitted and will reopen quarterly until funds are fully allotted.
