Royston Photographic Society has crowned the winners of its latest competition, which was on the theme of 'nature'.

The winning picture was Andrew Fox's 'Kestrel Life', capturing a kestrel with its prey.

In second place were a pair of mating brown argus butterflies, photographed by Martin Johnson on Therfield Heath, and in third place was Dave Walters' view of fungi in Thetford Forest, taken from a low angle on a damp autumn day.

The club will not be meeting during the two weeks of Easter, but is still offering outdoor events to members - including a landscape group outing, several nature group events and an evening of city photography.

Meetings will return after Easter at 7.30pm on Thursdays at Icknield Walk School, with members gearing up for the season's final competition, a presentation showing waterscapes and more photography field trips.

Once the regular season finishes the club will organise a summer season of outings which member are welcome to join.
