Following feedback from the community, Royston Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNT) will be focusing on speeding, safe parking and youth engagement as priorities over the coming months.

The SNT focuses on long and short-term neighbourhood issues, working with local partners such as schools and the council.

Priorities include speeding through urban and rural areas in and around Royston, inconsiderate parking and driving near schools and continued youth engagement to maintain low youth-related antisocial behaviour, and help prevent it in future.

Royston SNT Sergeant Ryan Champion, said: "I’d like to thank the community for submitting their recommendations for our policing priorities in Royston and for their continued support through participation in the OWL and echo surveys.

"These priorities have been set following community feedback and work with the local council to ensure our activities reflect what the local communities want.

"As part of the constabulary’s Prevention First ideal, we have regular youth engagement events to build bridges with local officers and our young people and are looking to continue on the recent success of those."

Residents can receive police messages about topics including burglaries, scams and missing people in the local area by signing up to www.owl.co.uk/herts or downloading the OWL crime alerts app.
