North East Herts MP Sir Oliver Heald has joined others in voicing his objection to station ticket office closures.

The Rail Delivery Group states this will put staff in more customer-facing roles, but many are concerned about the impact of potential ticket office closures.

Sir Oliver said: "I have objected to the decision to close station ticket offices locally.
"Many of my constituents may have difficulties, especially the elderly and those with disabilities, who do not have online access or have problems using ticket machines."
The public consultation on proposals has now been extended to end on Friday, September 1.
