Litlington software experts are helping bring history to life by donating their programme to an RAF museum.
Cambridge Pixel, which has its headquarters in Litlington, has donated military-grade software to the RAF Air Defence Radar Museum in Neatishead, Norfolk, allowing the museum to display radar video.
The company's radar software is used by the Royal Navy and aerospace companies BAE Systems and Lockheed Martin, and is exported to more than 50 countries.
The museum intends to use the software for a number of radar displays, and to assist with talks given in their atmospheric Cold War operations room.
Visitors will be able to view displays used by real radar operators and see scenarios recreated by the museum team, with a mix of live aircraft movement and simulations.
Hattie Hearn, manager of the RAF Air Defence Radar Museum, said: "We’re incredibly grateful to Cambridge Pixel for donating the software to the Museum.
"Its application in the Cold War Operations Room will help to bring the historic monitors to life and will be vital in showing visitors the continued importance of radar to our air defence system."

Cambridge Pixel hope that the donation will help more people become interested in radar technology, and the continued British innvoation in this field.
The software was installed onsite by Andrew Haylett, Cambridge Pixel's principal engineer.
He said: "This is a rewarding and interesting application of two of our key software products, and we are glad to have this opportunity to work with the team of volunteers at the museum to enhance the visitor experience at this historic site."
Cambridge Pixel's ASD-100 software, which was donated to the museum, is used by the military to display air targets, while their radar simulator software is used widely around the world for testing and training applications.
The RAF Air Defence Radar Museum has the country's only original Cold War Operations Room, which formed a critical link in the RAF's Command and Control System in the years following WWII.
The donation from Cambridge Pixel is one of a number of scheduled updates for the museum.
