Ernest Robert Lane sadly passed away on 13th December 2023 aged 97 years. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends and will rejoin his beloved wife of 68 years on the dance floor - Mavis Audrey Lane who passed away in 2018 Ernest was an amazing father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many - a strong , moralistic man with a wicked sense of humour and always fun to be around . A role model in every sense whose legacy will live on in the hearts of and through his loved ones. Funeral service to be held at St John the Baptist Church, Royston on Friday 19th January, 1.30pm. Everyone who knew Ernest are welcome at the ceremony and at the wake at the Royston Heath cafe thereafter.
