KINGSLEY Graham With great sadness, Catherine, Heather and Martin announce the death of Graham Kingsley on 13.08.23. Previous Headteacher at Meridian School, Royston. A Farewell Ceremony will take place at Luton Vale Crematorium, 12pm, 8th Sept. All Welcome. Donations to British Schools Museum where Graham was a volunteer teacher of Victorian-style lessons.

As a friend and contemporary of Graham at Cambridge, I was saddened to learn, just a couple of days ago, of his death, although our paths had diverged and I had not seen him for over half a century. He was a formative influence in my life and I can almost say that he taught me how to think, with his insistence on defining one's terms: I recall his characteristic phrase "What do you mean by...?" in his characteristic tone of voice with the emphasis on the word "what". I remember him as a competent Secretary of the Cambridge Humanists, of which I was a member, and an agreeable companion. Although I have never met his wife and family, I would like to express my sincere, if belated, condolences for their loss.
