An online service allowing East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust patients to access appointment information online has expanded across more clinics following a successful trial.

Called Patient Hub, the digital facility was initially for orthotics patients when it launched in August last year.

The hub allows patients to view their appointment details online, see copies of letters and other information related to their care and treatment, and confirm or cancel appointments and referrals.

The service is now available across 16 services and clinics at the NHS trust, including general surgery, stroke, neurology, and trauma and orthopaedics.

A spokesperson for the NHS trust has previously explained: "Whenever we make an outpatient appointment for a patient, or make a change to an existing appointment in those services, we will send them a text message with links to the relevant information on their Patient Hub account.

"Patients will be able to use the service to check appointments and receive and download appointment letters and other useful information, such as leaflets about their condition, maps to explain where to come for appointments or questionnaires about symptoms and medical history."

Patient Hub is not currently available for paediatrics patients.

The East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust runs Lister Hospital in Stevenage, the New QEII Hospital in Welwyn Garden City, Hertford County Hospital, and Mount Vernon Cancer Centre in Northwood.
